Agreement and scope

These terms are between Camarillo Connect LLC (“Camarillo Connect,” “we,” “us”) and the person or organization using our website, client portal or Tether managed services (“you”). They describe authorized use of these services. These terms apply when you accept them through our onboarding or contracting process. Posting these terms, downloading software, or reading a policy link does not by itself record acceptance or amend an existing signed agreement.

If you accept on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind it. Other users must have the organization's permission to use its account and managed devices. Services are intended for business use by adults who can enter a binding agreement.

A signed services agreement, statement of work, data processing agreement or other written contract with us controls its subject matter and prevails over a conflicting provision here. These terms do not create a new subscription price, support commitment, service level or data processing agreement. The Privacy Policy explains information handling; it is not a blanket consent to monitor someone else's computer.

Accounts, devices and your authority

Provide accurate account and organization details. Keep passwords, multifactor credentials, API secrets, installer tokens and device identities secure. Give access only to authorized people, remove access when it is no longer needed, and tell us promptly about suspected compromise or unauthorized use.

Enroll, administer or remotely access a computer only if you own it or have authority from its owner and other affected parties as required by law. If you deploy Tether to employees, contractors or shared devices, you are responsible for appropriate notices, workplace policies, authorization and any required consent before monitoring or access begins. An approval code confirms a technical action; it does not establish every legal permission needed for that action.

Company-specific installer links and tokens can be sensitive. A pre-approved bulk-install link can enroll computers without the normal user approval step. Restrict distribution and revoke such links when no longer needed.

Remote support permissions

Tether combines background health/inventory monitoring with separately controlled remote support. Enrollment links a computer to an organization. Pairing a trusted device establishes technical trust for remote connections. Neither replaces appropriate authorization from the computer's owner or user.

  • Screen and input: a permitted session can show the shared desktop and allow control of keyboard and pointer input.
  • Clipboard and files: synchronization and transfers can disclose information to the other participating computer. Close sensitive content and handle clipboard data appropriately.
  • Unattended access: enabling it for a trusted device can allow connections without a new prompt. Enable it only when authorized and remove it when that authority ends.
  • Remote terminals: an enabled terminal can run commands under the permitted account. Elevated SYSTEM/root/administrator access can read, alter or delete data and change system settings.

You must not conceal access from people entitled to notice, bypass consent or access controls, or rely on possession of a code or token as permission to access a third party's system. Any separate session recording requires appropriate authorization and notice. We may decline requests that lack adequate authority or create an unacceptable operational or security risk.

Acceptable use

Do not use our services to:

  • Access, monitor or control systems or accounts without authorization.
  • Conduct covert surveillance, harassment, fraud, credential theft or other unlawful activity.
  • Distribute malware, exfiltrate data, defeat another person's security controls or deliberately damage systems.
  • Exploit our hosted service, overload infrastructure, evade rate limits or test security without authorization.
  • Disclose data you are not permitted to share or infringe another person's intellectual property or privacy rights.
  • Misrepresent your identity or relationship with Camarillo Connect.

Good-faith security research must stay within a scope authorized by the relevant system owner. Report suspected vulnerabilities privately to info@camarilloconnect.com and avoid accessing or disclosing other customers' data.

Your information and confidentiality

As between you and us, you retain your rights in information and materials you provide. You authorize us to process that information as necessary to provide, secure and administer the agreed services, follow your authorized instructions and satisfy legal obligations. This does not grant us ownership of your files or permission to sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

Share only information you are authorized to provide and take reasonable steps to avoid unnecessary disclosure of sensitive content. Confidentiality and data-processing duties in a signed agreement remain applicable. If regulated data or a particular processing arrangement requires an additional agreement, arrange it with us before using the service for that purpose; these terms do not by themselves create a HIPAA business associate agreement or promise compliance certification.

Your organization may administer account access, managed devices and the information available to its users. Please review the Privacy Policy and your organization's own notices.

Software rights, dependencies and updates

Subject to your agreement with us and these terms, you may use the hosted portal and managed service for your authorized business purposes. Our names, logos and other branding remain ours or our licensors'; software access does not grant a right to represent yourself as Camarillo Connect.

Tether includes software and dependencies governed by their own licenses. Those licenses control the rights they grant, including rights to use, copy, modify or redistribute covered code. Nothing in these terms removes rights granted by an applicable open-source license. Hosted services, support and Camarillo Connect branding are separate from those software license rights.

Features and compatibility can vary by operating system, device permissions, configuration and version. Updates may be delivered automatically according to the software's settings and release mechanism. Follow deployment guidance, maintain supported versions and test material changes where your environment requires it. Third-party drivers, operating systems and external services have their own terms.

Service availability, payment and offboarding

Any fees, renewal or cancellation terms, support hours, response times and service levels are defined in your signed agreement or order. A download or portal account does not by itself promise continuous monitoring, 24-hour support, a guaranteed response time or uninterrupted availability.

Remote support depends on working networks, appropriate operating-system permissions and available signaling or relay infrastructure. Updates, maintenance, provider outages and local configuration can affect service. We may suspend or restrict access to address a security incident, unlawful activity, material misuse or a contractual right to suspend, subject to applicable law and any notice or cure requirements in your agreement. We will give notice when reasonably practicable unless doing so would undermine security or violate law.

You can request offboarding through your organization's administrator or info@camarilloconnect.com. Ending a desktop session, uninstalling the desktop application, removing the background monitoring service, revoking trusted devices and deleting historical records are distinct steps. We will coordinate the applicable steps under your agreement and the Privacy Policy.

Termination of hosted access does not erase rights you retain under an applicable software license. Provisions that by their nature need to continue—such as confidentiality, ownership, accrued payment duties and dispute provisions—continue to the extent permitted by law and the relevant agreement.

Responsibilities, warranties and disputes

Remote administration can change software, configuration and data. You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups and authorizing changes within your authority. We remain responsible for our own obligations under the applicable agreement and law. An inventory or security-status result may be incomplete, unavailable or out of date; it is not a guarantee that a computer is secure or free of malware.

Except for express commitments in a signed agreement and rights that cannot legally be excluded, the software and online services are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that use will be uninterrupted, error-free or prevent every security incident.

Any limitation of liability agreed in a separate signed contract applies according to that contract. These terms do not introduce an additional monetary liability cap, indemnification obligation, mandatory arbitration provision or class-action waiver. Nothing here excludes liability or remedies that applicable law does not allow the parties to exclude.

Unless a signed agreement or mandatory law provides otherwise, California law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to mandatory jurisdiction and venue rules, disputes may be brought in state courts in Ventura County, California, or federal courts in the Central District of California. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve an issue; this request does not delay or waive any legal deadline or right to relief.

Changes and contact

We may propose updated terms as the service changes. We will identify the effective date, provide notice of material changes through the portal or account contact as appropriate, and obtain acceptance when required. Changes do not automatically amend a separate signed agreement or apply retroactively to an existing dispute.

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to the extent permitted by law. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These terms and the applicable signed agreements govern the subjects they cover.
