Who we are and what this covers

Camarillo Connect LLC (“Camarillo Connect,” “we,” “us”) provides technology consulting, a client portal and Tether by Camarillo Connect, our workstation monitoring and remote support software. This policy describes information handled through those services, including the public website and support communications.

When your employer or another organization deploys Tether, that organization determines which computers are managed and who is authorized to use its account. We handle managed device and support information to provide services for that organization, subject to our agreement with it. For our own website, account administration, security and business records, we determine the purposes of processing. A separate signed data processing agreement may provide additional terms.

Questions or requests: info@camarilloconnect.com or (805) 444-2854. We are based in Camarillo, California.

Information we handle

We receive information directly from you and your organization, from installed Tether agents, and from systems that deliver and protect the services. What is available depends on the service, operating system, permissions and configuration.

Contact, account and business information
Names, business email addresses, phone numbers, company details, inquiries, support messages and attachments; projects, tasks, comments, agreements, approvals, time entries and billing-related records provided through the portal.
Account security information
Account identifiers, password hashes, multifactor authentication setup and recovery data, passkey public credentials, session records, API credential records and security/audit events. Passkey authentication does not send us the biometric template used by your device to unlock a passkey.
Computer identity and network information
Computer name, hardware UUID, serial number, model, manufacturer, operating system and architecture; device public keys, local IP addresses, network adapter identifiers, domain/workgroup, time zone and the signed-in username. Our network services can also receive the public IP address associated with a request.
Health and software inventory
CPU, memory, storage, battery and uptime metrics; disk names, mount points and capacity; installed software names, versions, publishers and installation dates where available.
Security posture and service events
Encryption, firewall, antivirus, pending updates, screen-lock and automatic-login settings, local administrator names, secure boot and platform protections; enrollment, check-in, access changes, errors and other support/security events.
Service and connection metadata
Request times, IP addresses, browser or device information, diagnostic logs, delivery status and authentication activity. Signaling and relay operators can observe connection information, such as device identifiers, addresses, timing and traffic volume.

Routine monitoring is not screen recording. The background inventory reports are not designed to collect file contents, browser history, passwords, screenshots, microphone audio or a record of your keystrokes. Remote support is different and is explained below. Information you submit in support messages or make visible during a session may contain personal or confidential material.

What happens during remote access

When a trusted device is permitted to connect, the authorized person using it can see the shared screen and, where permitted, control the computer. Tether also supports clipboard synchronization, file transfer and remote terminals. Clipboard synchronization can transmit text or images you copy while a session is connected. Terminal commands and output, transferred files and information visible on screen may contain sensitive data.

Remote terminal permissions are separate from device activation. An elevated terminal, when enabled through the required controls, can operate with administrator, SYSTEM or root privileges and access or modify data across the computer. Unattended access, if explicitly enabled for a trusted device, can allow a session without a new approval prompt. Activation alone does not grant remote access to every device in your organization.

Tether is designed to encrypt remote session content between the paired computers. The signaling or TURN relay is not intended to receive that content in readable form. This does not hide content from the authorized technician, the participating computers, or someone who has compromised an endpoint. A recipient can retain files, copy information or use separate recording tools. Any recording or additional processing by your organization or a support provider must be covered by its notices, permissions and agreement with you.

How we use information

  • Set up accounts, approve and identify computers, and provide the portal and requested support.
  • Monitor computer health and security posture, diagnose issues, maintain inventory and plan technology work.
  • Communicate about projects, inquiries, agreements, service delivery, billing and account security.
  • Authenticate users and devices, enforce permissions, investigate misuse and protect the service.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and update the software and infrastructure.
  • Meet legal obligations and resolve disputes.

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.

Who receives information

Your organization and authorized personnel. Client users see information their organization is permitted to access. Camarillo Connect administrators and authorized support personnel can access information needed to administer accounts and provide the agreed services. A technician may see remote session content as described above.

Service providers. We use providers for hosting, networking, storage, email, workflow processing and software delivery. The service architecture includes Cloudflare for the website, portal and network services; Resend for email delivery and receipt; business email and workflow services, including Google and configured Tines workflows, for inquiry/support communications; GitHub for software release infrastructure and update delivery; and OVHcloud for our managed signaling and encrypted-traffic relay in Oregon, United States. Some website and portal fonts load from Google Fonts. Providers receive the information necessary for the features they deliver; the providers used for a particular deployment depend on its configuration.

Connectivity services. STUN, signaling and TURN services may be operated by us, your organization or a hosting provider. They can receive the connection metadata described above. Hosting a relay does not, by itself, provide access to readable encrypted remote session content.

Legal and business circumstances. We may disclose relevant information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, investigate abuse or enforce agreements. Information may also be transferred in a merger, reorganization or sale of the business, subject to applicable law and appropriate confidentiality protections. A business transfer is distinct from selling data for advertising.

Independent third-party services you choose to connect or visit are governed by their own policies. Information can be processed in the United States and other locations where the relevant providers operate; this policy does not promise a particular data residency region.

Retention, removal and security

We retain information according to its purpose, the active service relationship, customer instructions and applicable recordkeeping or legal requirements. Relevant factors include whether a computer or account remains managed, whether information is needed for support or security investigations, and whether contracts or legal obligations require retention.

The current managed service attempts to remove detailed workstation metric samples older than 14 days when that workstation checks in. This is not a blanket 14-day deletion promise: offline-device records can remain longer, and inventory, software lists, enrollment records, events, agreements, communications and audit logs follow separate retention needs. Backups and provider logs can also have separate lifecycles. We do not promise that every record is automatically erased on a fixed date.

Revoking or retiring a computer's managed access, closing the desktop window or uninstalling the desktop app does not necessarily erase previously collected information or remove the background monitoring service. Ask your administrator or contact us for offboarding, service removal, access revocation and any applicable deletion request.

We use measures such as encrypted network transport, device request signatures, account authentication and access controls. No system or transmission is completely secure. Protect account credentials, approval codes, trusted devices and computers used for support; contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

Your choices and privacy rights

You can review or update available profile settings in the portal, ask your organization to correct its records, and contact us about access, correction or deletion of your personal information. Use info@camarilloconnect.com or our contact form; identify the account, organization or computer involved and the nature of your request. Do not include passwords, authentication secrets or unnecessary sensitive documents.

We may verify your identity and authority before disclosing or changing records. If we process the information for your organization, we may refer the request to it or work with it to respond. Your organization is also the appropriate contact for its employee monitoring policies and decisions about managed devices. Ending remote sessions, changing trusted-device permissions and offboarding monitoring are separate controls.

Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights to know or access information, correct inaccuracies, request deletion, obtain a copy, restrict or object to certain processing, withdraw consent where processing relies on it, or complain to a regulator. Where applicable, California law also provides rights to opt out of sale or advertising sharing, limit certain uses of sensitive information and receive equal treatment for exercising rights. We handle applicable requests subject to verification, legal exceptions and required response periods. An authorized agent may contact us with proof of authority where permitted.

These descriptions do not assert that every privacy law applies to every service or request. We do not charge or discriminate unlawfully for exercising applicable privacy rights. If a request cannot be fulfilled, we will explain the applicable reason.

Cookies, browser storage and tracking

The website and portal use cookies or similar storage for signed-in sessions, security, sign-in state and preferences such as light/dark mode. Tether stores local preferences, device identity and configuration needed to operate. Blocking essential storage may prevent sign-in or other functions from working.

Our services do not use personal information for targeted advertising. The application does not implement a separate response to legacy “Do Not Track” browser signals. Because we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is no such transfer for a Global Privacy Control signal to disable. This does not limit any obligation to honor legally required opt-out signals if our practices change.

External fonts, hosting/security services, and any enabled site performance analytics can receive network and usage information as needed to deliver their services. Third-party resources may recognize requests made to their services across websites; their policies govern their independent handling. We will update this notice before introducing materially different tracking practices.

Children, policy changes and contact

The services are intended for business use by adults and are not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through these services without appropriate authority, contact us so we can investigate and address it.

We will post the current policy and its effective date on this page. For material changes affecting existing customers, we will provide additional notice through the portal or an account contact where appropriate or required, and obtain any consent required by law. A changed policy does not retroactively override applicable law or a signed agreement.
